Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actor who was famous due to her roles in films Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The film Piano has won several awards for her, among them an Oscar. In her early years she began performing on stage in various Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. The actress has always had an interest in acting since she started high school. Her debut role in a production in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one of her ear, however this didn't stop the actress from pursuing her dream. As a young woman she took classes in drama at the college level and then moved into New York City from Pittsburgh to pursue her ambitions. Hunter had her Broadway debut after an unplanned conversation in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. Together, they wrote on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. She landed one in the role of an actress playing the main character in Swing Shift. For the past 30 years, she has appeared on numerous TV shows and films. Holly Hunter won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in addition to her Women in Film Lucy Award.
